Another possibility that I’ll link here so we have all these in one thread:

Stilla, a motion thingy (Indiegogo campaign)

It seems like this motion detector thingy [1] could be very helpful in automating many beemindery tasks in addition to what the project already suggest you can use it for. It is a fundraiser campaign, so lots of caveats. There is also some mention of API, so that is something that will eventually arrive I suppose.
