Help me stop the "daily" tasks from taking over everything?

Thanks for joining us here, @physicsgal! If Habitica is fun / motivating / effective then I think it makes a ton of sense to stick to that and not add the stress of Beeminder. For my own personal philosophy of Beeminder (by no means universal) I think the stress is valuable. There’s also the approach of starting a Beeminder goal at a presumably stress-free $0 and then the first time you derail, decide whether it’s valuable enough for a Damoclean $5 or if you want to archive it at that point.

…and for the Focusmate integration, you only get the points if your Focusmate partner says you earned them… :evil-grin:

@zedmango This is an old-ish topic but I would highly recommend reading Atomic Habits by James Clear. Generally, the fewer habits you start with, the better. Once they become automatic, do something else. A small example: I didn’t usually make my bed, now I do it every day and it takes virtually no effort. I don’t think about it, I just do it.
