How to enter a higher value than my "goal" today and not have it deducted from tomorrow's "goal"?

Hi, so, say I have a goal to write 1000 words a day. My goal type is “Do More”.
If I manage to write 1500 words today, according to my graph, I only have to write 500 tomorrow to avoid derailment.
Is there a goal type or a way I can arrange this one, so I can do more than my daily value on some days and still keep the same daily value for derailment for future dates?
Hope my question is clear.

You want to use “ratcheting” : faq – beeminder

You could also define your goal in terms of a binary “did I meet my target today.” That is, instead of entering the number of words you wrote today, you would enter a one if you met your goal, and a zero if you didn’t.

Aaand just to complete the info in this thread, if you want this to happen automatically, there is an automatic ratchet for accounts that have Bee Plus or Beemium subscriptions.

(There are also ways around it with custom goals, but we don’t really recommend that; it’s a bit experimental and has definite drawbacks.)
