Beeminding Television Viewinf

I’ve been toying with the idea of limiting my Television viewing to 100 hours per year and would like to beemind this, but the problem arises in that given the dispersal of the shows I like I have a glut of hours I want to use in the start of the year (Game of Thrones, etc) and little in the end of the year.

If I Beemind my hours then I’ll fall off mid May and then flatline above my brick road as my shows all stop.

Does anyone have ideas on how to successfully implement Beeminder for this?

It might help to think of it in terms of hours per month, with the rate
varying throughout the year, and with the yearly total equalling roughly
100. Adjust the monthly rate as required, using either the normal road dial
on an ongoing basis or doing all months in advance with the “Take a break”
feature. (I think, but am not certain, that you could use that feature to
set up a year’s worth of goal changes.)

Confirmed! Love this answer.

(And for the supernerds, this is one of many things that will be made
much more intuitive with the generalized road dial:

PS: For anyone who doesn’t know, Alys is the mastermind behind
The One Must-Do Task Each Day | Beeminder Blog (and check out the comment I added there
recently). Oh, and apparently, says the footnote, I thought of the
idea here on Akratics Anonymous, based on ideas from Paul Fenwick, but
it was Alys’s execution of it that turned it into a Real Thing. As we
all know, execution is everything!

PPS: I just reread Alys’s “One Must Do” article. It’s, like, literally
beautiful.
