If I understood correctly, once I derail, beeminder charges my credit card, then I get some new safety buffer on my goal. However, it continues running. If I just don’t do anything, I will keep derailing indefinitely by default. Is this true? In this case I wish there was an option to opt-in explicitly after derailing.
This would make me feel more comfortable about using beeminder with high stakes given that there is always the possibility of extreme scenarios such as having an accident and being in a coma for years, or losing my memory, or even dying.
