  1. The personal motto I selected for this year, festina lente, far from becoming quickly trivial or irrelevant, which I feared, continues to be very applicable in my own challenges and self-improvement efforts.
  2. Found the topical medication I wanted at Costco just when I was about to give up.
  3. Eating an almond butter and jam sandwich stopped me from being queasy after drinking way too much iced tea at once, and I was able to complete all my deadlift sets.

  1. i was super grateful this morning that the hot water didn’t die on my while i was in the shower. this happens not very often, but when it does it usually happens while i’m in the shower, which is horrible because going out into the kitchen and fixing it might not be difficult, but it’s Zero Fun when you’re all wet and cold. so yay for that not happening this morning! (this is also where writing down these gratitudes shortly after they happen really pays off, i very much doubt i would have remembered this otherwise XD)
  2. self-gratitude-quote: i’m grateful that i’ll likely be asleep by 1 a.m. tonight! (i guess writing these has made me realise how many of these are about my sleep XD … food for thought, definitely …)
  3. i’m grateful i again got to talk the new job offer through with my best friend. this would job number 3 to take on. i am still very ambivalent about it, but probably more realistic now, as well. the “interview” is tomorrow night, so i’ll see what exactly they would expect from me, then i can decide if i’d want to try to handle it on top of everything else!

  1. i’m grateful for the bubble tea i got today after work. it was delicious, it was warm, it made me very happy! (okay, i was already in a good mood before i got it, but if it had been bitter or tasted less perfectly, i wouldn’t have been as happy, probably :P)
  2. self-gratitude-quota: i’m grateful i wrote a post about my experiences with bullet journaling, and how to possibly perfect it going forward. it’s a long post (typical), so beware if you want to check it out :P but putting my thoughts and experiences into written words already helped me grasp things better, i’m very grateful i did it!
  3. i’m grateful that my boss didn’t call me at work today. (he also didn’t call me outside of work, but that’s a given, thankfully!) i think this might actually be the first time ever that we haven’t spoken during my work days since i started there in september XD

  1. I’m still amazed and grateful at the night and day difference between how much I read last year and this year. (Links are to my graph that tracks backlogged reading goals started up and pages read. Both see an uptick around mid-December. Those who know me personally have hazarded some guesses as to what happened there… suffice it to say that a significant timesuck and emotional weight was removed from me.)
