  1. SGQ: I kept my cool today in an incredibly frustrating situation.
  2. My plumber is moving surprisingly quickly on my water heater replacement! So far so good, at least—knock on wood.
  3. I was able to see an old co-worker and friend in person today for the first time in five or six years!

  • i’m grateful that i have two good feet that allow me to wander down a road just for the sake of it (song link—tom rosenthal being wonderful as always)
  • self-gratitude: i’m grateful i took a long walk today. walks are a good thing!
  • i’m grateful i figured out how to do the thing at work today. flyer’s not in print yet, so fingers will still be crossed, but at least every hurdle i’ve come up so far i managed to solve, which is great and makes me feel proud!

  1. Jeremy and I are looking after a dog for a friend for the next few weeks.
  2. One of my favourite authors is about to start a new kickstarter for “Time of the Cat, a cozy SFF comedy about time travel, talking cats, lost media and academia”.
  3. SGQ: I worked a long day today even with distractions from the dog.

  1. I was able to order myself a new ereader today. (I know I only recently got a little ereader, but while I think it’s adorable and it’s really good on the go, I’m finding it rather tiring to read on it on a day-to-day basis. My older ereader that’s a bit bigger is having battery issues, so it’s time to retire it and get a new one.)
  2. Got new books! (I know, I know, it’s a theme with me. I preordered a bunch of stuff a while ago, so now it’s all coming home to roost.)
  3. Got my blood test booked with a minimum of fuss.

  • i’m grateful that the clogged toilet at work today was relatively easy to unclog.
  • i’m grateful for the delicious dinner we had tonight. the food was maybe a bit too spicy for me, but it tasted amazing. also, this was my first time trying makgeolli, and that was great, too!
  • self-gratitude: i’m greatful i’m going to sleep now. i’m super tired. not motivated. very tired. wouldn’t do anything useful anyway. it’s uncharacteristically early. it’s not even 10 p.m. yet! what’s up! (it’ll probably be at least 10 p.m. once i’m actually in bed, but still!) yay for me for choosing sleep!!

  1. My new ereader will probably arrive tomorrow. (It says by 3pm, but that seems doubtful given the current location!)
  2. My tutors finally got back to me about something that seemed worryingly wrong in a past mark scheme.

  • i’m grateful for a fun time at the movies. we went to see john wick; very fun! overall a good time.
  • self-gratitude: i’m grateful i finally bought the train ticket for next week.
  • i’m grateful i did a little thing i still wanted to do this month. since i’ll be going on a trip for work starting the night of the 28th, and i probably won’t take my laptop with me, i couldn’t procrastinate this until last minute, because that means i would simply do it too late or not at all. but now it’s already done!

  1. The dog we’re looking after is actually called Hermes, which I think is a much better name for him (Herman is a nickname).
  2. His owner visited today, and we had a nice chat with her, then she and Jeremy took him for a walk, leaving me with some time to myself.
  3. SGQ: I spent that time doing stretches and reading, instead of frittering it away with games or web surfing.

  • i’m grateful i found makgoelli in an asian supermarket today! the first one (close to where i live), had run out, unfortunately; so i ecosed it and found another one, which luckily still had many bottles in stock! (i got two; one for each flavour they had—banana and white grape) that additional trip + the things i had to carry from the stores definitely wrecked my feet, but it was worth it! (didn’t try the makgoelli yet, but just knowing i have some makes me happy!)
  • self-gratitude: i’m grateful i was outside for so long today. i think all in all it was a good two and a half to three hours of just walking around, looking at things, and listening to music.
  • i’m grateful i managed to whittle down almost all my beeminder forum drafts today! i still have to finish the biggest one, my second journal entry, but all other, smaller posts/replies are now out of the way and don’t clog up my drafts here anymore, finally! :D
