Hi folks! The “Life” section has been made private, meaning that all posts here are now private.

I don’t think there is a relevant other category to move this thread to, so it’ll have to stay here and be hidden now. That means it will not count towards any Beeminder goal using Postminder to automatically track your forum contributions.

Edit: The decision was reversed because of the issue of people who are using Postminder to track their posts in the forum. So unless you were very unlucky in your deadline, you should be okay.

I think it’s a good decision to make the forum a bit more private. Maybe there is a way to modify Postminder to also include post from private sections?

  1. The delayed boxes we need for packing should finally arrive in good time today, saving me from having to make an extra trip to buy boxes. (We’re running out of opportunities to pack, so it has to be today for my books!)
  2. I got some cheap-ish sandals to have something to slip on to step outside briefly (e.g. doing the bins or something) that isn’t the hated flip-flop. They’re pretty comfy for what they are.
  3. My wife is still handling a lot of the moving stuff and that does make it much easier to get back into rhythm with work etc etc.

  1. Just drank an old-fashioned made with bourbon a friend got me. It’s nothing terribly special or anything, but I’m glad I have thoughtful friends here who are very kind to me; even though I don’t plan to live where I live now forever.
  2. Speaking of, will play D&D with friends from back home over voice chat in a little bit! I tend to be a bit negative on whether the internet has really made life better or not… but getting to spend so much of my weekends with friends and family who are far away is a definite plus.
