I just recommended this extension at the end of the latest blog post which reminds me to say thank you again for making it! I kind of want to steal it, as in build it into Beeminder proper. (I’m now setting a reminder to uninstall it after a while to see how attached I end feeling to its functionality!)
Maybe fun philosophical debate: I like being all opinionated-software (see blog post for more on this) and it makes a ton of sense to say red goals shouldn’t be collapsible, but what do you think of this counterargument:
- Collapsing a red goal is kind of like an uncle button. If you explicitly choose to bury it and let it derail, well, derailing is not failing. That’s a valid choice to make.
- It’s a tiny anti-magic principle violation and in fact when I installed the extension yesterday I spent some time confused thinking it hadn’t loaded because my dashboard was all red and no “collapse” link appears on those. (Arguably if you did want to stick to the opinionated opinion, having the links consistently appear but be grayed out on red goals would be less magical.)
