What are the technical reasons for the incompatibility between autoratcheting and weekends off?

I realize the simple reason is that auto-ratcheting advances your road to the left, thereby moving the weekend breaks. (Does this also happen for manually-added breaks?) Does anyone have an "upratcheting" script?

I use weekends off on almost all my goals. One side-effect of this is that I find myself frequently running into the issue where I really want to use retroratchet on one of my goals, but I can’t because it will mess up my breaks. Being able to use retroratchet has turned into the exception for me. I tried using the visual road editor to do it, but ended up messing up my road. Why does retroratcheting change scheduled breaks?

I basically want to reset any buffers to zero every day to make sure I work on my goal every (week)day and just because I worked better today should not mean I get tomorrow off. From the information I gathered, this could be achieved by retroratcheting. But this seems have also changed my scheduled break which now no longer fall on weekends. Can anyone explain why this should be and how to fix it? Thanks.
