Using 11ty to track daily word count via URLminder

Hello fellow apiculturists and honey farmers! It’s been quite a while since my last forum post. My Beeminder usage has died down quite a bit over the years, but I’m fully back on that horse now!

One thing that’s been tricky for me is finding a good solution for keeping track of my daily word count. I’ve been back to using 750words.com and currently have a 500+ day streak there.

But I want to make a Beeminder goal for this again. I tried using Bear’s API, but the output was way too volatile and I’m not a Swift dev :stuck_out_tongue:

I decided to try using URLminder, and using my JAMstack skillz, I made a static digital garden with 11ty which has a script that takes all the entries and outputs them as a single plain text file located at /urlminder.txt, which I point the Beeminder goal to. I have a full technical write-up here:

Anyways, I write for a living full-time now! My Beeminder goal for blog posts has a safety of 14 months currently, yipee.
