I totally agree. I’m enough of a power user I just click the button to go to the website, but this is way too unintuitive for a novice. They’ll probably poke around the app a bit, never even look at the website, figure it’s impossible to change the rate, and quit using Beeminder.

(or by making the website more mobile friendly which would save you from having this feature implemented 3 times instead of just once)

Seems like the trick will be to distinguish cases where you want a very small slope, like a “get oil change” goal.
