I’ve created a Firefox extension that reduces the friction of logging data points to Beeminder.

  • One-click data logging from any browser tab
  • Current tab title auto-included in comments
  • Goals sorted by urgency with color-coded indicators
  • Checkmarks shown for goals that have met daily rate

Background

Standard Beeminder data entry requires navigating to the site, finding a goal, entering the value, and submitting. That’s 4 steps sometimes with keyboard. This extension makes it 2.

Setup

Download: GitHub - lcb931023/beeminder-quick-data: Extension to insert beeminder data quickly

Installation:

  1. Navigate to about:debugging in Firefox
  2. Click “Load Temporary Add-on”
  3. Select manifest.json from the downloaded files
  4. Enter your Beeminder credentials in the options page
