- Yesterday I noticed myself doing something I didn’t have to do that day with the conscious thought that I was doing it soley to make today easier for myself. It’s rare that I care that much about future-me when Beeminder doesn’t force me to.
- Sleep headphones arrived in time for a trip I’m taking this week.
- Pretty orange flowers in a tree that I can see from my window.

- i’m grateful my not-so-fun-dream didn’t negatively impact my awakening or my mood this morning. which is also why i’m not calling it a nightmare. i’m pleasantly surprised, actually! i didn’t know this was even possible. (only ever had nightmares that turned into rude / scared / unpleasant awakenings and subsequent bad starts into the day.)
- self-gratitude-quota: i’m immensely grateful to my past self for taking a comp time day off tomorrow. it’s my birthday, and while i don’t think many adults do this, i’ve always liked to take a day off on my birthday if it’s possible. especially for the job which i would have to go to tomorrow, lol. let laziness win once a year!
:D ;P
- i’m grateful i’ve discovered an interesting new webtoon that pulled me right into the story! love to enjoy reading again, and doing it daily again, and being obsessed with dozens of fictional characters and their fates again!

- self-gratitude-quota: i’m grateful that i called the bank today. still need to wait to get confirmation for an appointment, for various reasons, which is super annoying, for various reasons, but it’s not in my hands currently, and if i hadn’t called today i would have had to call tomorrow or some other later days, which would have postponed everything even more, which wouldn’t have been good, for various reasons! so great and grateful that it’s done!
:)
(at least half of it.) - i’m grateful for a chill evening spent with my flatmate. we played a lot of smart10, and he absolutely destroyed me, but it was very fun!
- i’m grateful for the birthday presents i got. among other things, 100 (!) dual tip brush pens in a super fancy box, which i cannot wait to try out, and which hopefully will give me enough push to finally start working on some of the creative things i will need for my application this year …

- My static managed to clear Storm’s Crown EX (the thing we were trying to do on Friday)! It was so nice to group up and learn each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and just do something hard.

This is awesome! I will start doing this now!
Also, happy birthday
- I met tons of family member today
- I did a car driving lesson. I’m super bad at it and it was getting my instructor frustrated because he thinks that I don’t put in efforts (I do put extra efforts T_T). But we talked it out and I’m off to a new start.
- Today was super busy, but at least I’ve got to work on machine learning stuff. It’s the kind of fun I like apparently. I’m starting to accept that I get a lot of fun out of my computer. I don’t need to be 100% like other people, in fact, I can be pretty happy about being satisfied by so little

and thank you for the wishes!

i’m grateful for the newest update of thanks, i’m good. the creator hid a birthday cake for me in the episode, because i told them that it would (almost) be a birthday episode for me!
:D
it’s also such a wholesome and fun episode! - self-gratitude-quota: i’m grateful that i’ve started occasionally drafting these gratitudes during the day. i always post them before making my way to bed, but sometimes it’s nice not having to pull three completely new things out of my brainwaves at night (especially when i’m tired), so it’s great that i’ve started taking notes here during the day, when a gratitude happens, which i then only have to expand on when writing this post.
:)
- a general-world-gratitude that i’ll keep to myself for personal reasons.

- Getting ready today, I looked at myself in the bathroom mirror, and instead of being annoyed, fussy, or apathetic about my body shape, I actually felt like I’m doing pretty damn well for a guy who’s almost 40 and always liked math, books, philosophy, and anime a lot more than sports or athletics…
- At least one of the interventions I’m trying out seems to be having a noticable effect on my sleep quality! (don’t know what yet, but natural “experiments” will happen eventually)
- Even if I might feel differently a few days from now, and even though I might feel kinda bad some days along the way, today I feel confident in my ability to forgo some material and social comforts over the long term to pursue things that are meaningful.
- My brother found this classic PhD Comic useful in understanding and explaining the current health hype-o-sphere.
- Have returned to feeling content, rather than just ‘accepting’ with my height (apparently 7th percentile for adult males in the US), which also means the influence of previous socially rooted worries is abating.

- self-gratitude-quota: i’m very grateful to myself that i started working on my ndu application today! this application requires me to create 3-4 creative things + a bigger thing until summer-ish. this is for something i want to do (an additional one-year uni-course starting september (?)) rather than something i have to do. while i’ve told people about my intentions and it would thus be Slightly Embarrassing to admit i didn’t do it after all, it still wouldn’t be That Big A Deal. so me starting on Thing One today, on a whim, without any pre-determined intention of doing so, was A Very Big Deal! i was so happy i did it, and i know i need to keep the momentum going, so i created a new beeminder goal for it
:D
fingers crossed!;)
- i’m grateful for spending a fun evening with my flatmate. i guess this comes up a lot here, but he’s really dear to my heart, and we did have a lot of fun again tonight. i’m grateful that we consistently can make each other laugh, and that we can talk about anything.
- i’m grateful that i drafted my next post in enbee’s entries. it’s not nearly halfway done yet, needs tons of structure and content and polish, but a big chunk got done today, which is great! i don’t have a deadline for posting there, but since i’m still at the very beginning of my beeminder (journal) journey, i should probably keep the intervals as short as i can—if not, the posts will get even longer and even more convoluted, because i’ll have more things to say that i haven’t said before and that thus Need Much More Space XD

- I’m starting to get good at basic makeup (if you’re a man and you’ve been on the fence of starting to wear makeup, I can recommend a mix of “BB cream” and “Clinique, even better, clinical” - it will make you look 25 years younger but without the acne) (get advices from girls because there are really weird ways to mess up, lol) (this applies to you if you’re a girl too)
