- Life returning to enough of an even keel for me to write this
- A bit of sunshine between the seemingly-endless showers
- Not having to water in the new planting, because of the seemingly-endless showers
- Hair is short again!
- I had time for a walk and spent some time thinking.
- I found a place I could walk in a wide circles (around a churchyard, actually) and then I just read on my tiny ereader for a while. I do like being able to walk and read, but it takes some sensible setup like a route where I know I won’t trip and there’s not much foot traffic!
- SGQ: I started in on the big scary konmari of all the stuff that lives in my office. Right now I’m at the “giant horrible pile” step, but it’s a step in the right direction indeed!
- A comfy little storm rolled through in the early afternoon.
- Finally hit the breaks I scheduled for some of my goals to focus on move & renovation, such a load off my plate!
- i’m grateful i got to get home early from work today.
- i’m grateful for the theater piece i saw with some friends tonight.
- self-gratitude: i’m grateful i decided to take the long walk to the theater by foot tonight.
- I do not have Coeliac disease.
- In fact, all my blood tests came back within normal range.
- Mum will come to my surgical consult with me.
- New shelving arrived for the garage, and that’s looking much better already
- Lovely new home-baked cookies from Claire
- Very pleasant warm day overall
- I looked at my phone at the right time, so I didn’t miss this video meeting. (I was thinking it was tomorrow, but it was today, oups!)
- SGQ: I’m really making good changes in my life! With SkedPal and getting good sleep
- Person for hanging my clothes for me
- self-gratitude: i’m grateful i decided to get some bubble tea again today, after a (relatively) long time of (mostly unplanned/unintentionally?) not getting any. i forgot to get the bill though, so i had to pay for it myself, but i’m still happy i got it! and lychee tasted great!
i probably made the mistake of drinking it too quickly, but i was also hungry and in need of angry-comfort-sips, so really there’s no way this could have gone differently.yayfor
bubble
tea!
- i’m grateful for having a wild fit of laughter on my way home from work today! my flatmate made a regularly-funny joke, but sleep deprivitation + hyper-mode from tea + happiness-because-work-over + maybe other factors made it like the absolutely most funny joke in the world for me at that time, and it cracked me up in public so much that i’m sure people were wondering what drugs i was on.
the joke, for those interested (but bewarned: i doubt it's funny if you're not me circa 9 hours ago)
so i had intended to text my flatmate that my boss ate over 1,000 € worth of lunches at the company’s expense last year. only i forgot to add the “€,” so it read “he ate over 1,000 lunches at the company’s expense last year.”
my flatmate texted back: “how does pot[1] manage to eat over 1,000 lunches in 365 days? subsequently: how does pan survive eating over 1,000 lunches in 365 days?”
[1] “pot” as in flowerpot; not “pot” as in weed. a private nickname my flatmate and i have for my boss. it only really makes sense in german and when you also know his real name, but also maybe it doesn’t even make sense then? suffice it to say that the nickname alone additionally added to the funny of the joke for me.
- i’m grateful that i re-read and almost-finalised my most recent haikus and haiku-adjacent poems tonight. our next casual literature meet-up is on saturday, so i can simply give them a last round of revisions tomorrow or on friday before posting them to the group.
- random short additional gratitudes: i’m grateful that the phrase “angry comfort sips” came to me. i’m grateful i managed to un-beemergency my ndu goal today. i’m grateful it’s not scorching summertime yet.
- SGQ: Kept good mood & emotional control during some very frustrating occurrences at work. I think I’ve used this one before, but it’s again!
- Our new house has a pantry big enough to walk into.
- We figured out what to do with our extra fridge (give it to my sister-in-law, who’s getting a new place in July).
- BONUS: We got a new grill and oh my gosh I had a salmon dinner and it was SO GOOD.
- Although I really didn’t want to, managed to get through half an hour of vigorous exercise
- New trees have arrived already for the garden!
- Pixel tablet is available for pre-order, saving me from falling down the slippery-slope-to-freaking-expensive-phones Apple side of the house. If I save with appropriate focus, I should get there by the time it’s shipping.
- Pizza with my sister tonight.
- Doing physio helps. Who knew?
- My static are pretty close to clearing a difficult fight on FFXIV. (Abyssos Sixth Circle Savage, for those who might vaguely know what I mean. It’s our first ever attempt at a synced Savage, after clearing the five EXes of the expansion, and this was our third prog night. Not bad progress!)
- i’m grateful i got to hype about my prospective vacation next year at therapy today.
- self-gratitude: i’m grateful that i managed to fully follow through on the random resorting-my-closet fit that hit me today. it wasn’t the most overdue thing i could have done, but it was definitely time well spent, and now everything looks orderly again!
- i’m grateful there’s only one day of the work week left!
- Having a good day even though I woke up late
- Having a calendar to make my life easier
- Chicken sandwich
- SGQ: I took a nap today.
- Delivery services.
- The cute little fairy-door-in-a-cactus figurine on my desk that is currently making me smile.
could you show us a picture? :)
- Trees successfully planted
- Sunshine today
- Reading a really good book
- SGQ: I am making good progress konmari-ing my office stuff! I expect to finish turning “giant horrible pile” into two piles (“thank you for your service” and “sparks joy”) today.
- I have the day off work and got to wear my kimono all morning.
- My ratcheting screwdriver is a delight to use and made some maintenance tasks yesterday more fun to do. Man, I love a good tool.
Cactus figurine, as requested!
thank you, @rperce! a very cute figurine indeed :D
-
i’m grateful that i was able to take my clothes out of a wonderfully sorted closet this morning! (this would be good for a self-gratitude, except that sorting my closet was my sg yesterday, so that would feel like cheating
:p
) the rest of my room still looks absolutely unpresentable, but my closet is all sorted now!let’s see how long this will last.
- self-gratitude: i’m grateful i ended up taking a longer walk today and thus met my aspirational step goal for the day. these are getting harder the higher the goal is set, who would have thought!
turns out taking a walk takes time XD so far i’ve still managed amazingly, though, compared to pre-goal and compared to my expectations as well!
-
i’m grateful that some anxious thoughts and scenarios i created in my head today turned out to of course be wrong. (this feels too stupid to elaborate on, and i don’t think i’m capable of generalising it such that it makes sense while still staying vague, so i’m afraid you’ll have to live with the
??
in this case, or pm me for details XD)
- A lazy morning.
- My wife buying me silly childhood treats (Party Rings).
- My British Library Crime Classic subscription book this month was Crimes of Cymru (how apropos!) and there was a free bookmark.
- self-gratitude: i’m grateful for an early bedtime tonight (for a weekend)
- i’m grateful for a fun day with my friends.
- i’m grateful i don’t have to get up early tomorrow.
