  • i’m grateful we have an additional spare umbrella at home that i could borrow today. it’s been a very rainy day, and i forgot my own umbrella at work on friday, and didn’t think to retrieve it later in the evening or yesterday, so i’m glad for the spare one.
  • self-gratitude: i’m grateful i did all my any-time-of-day-tasks before leaving the house today. waking up early enough has its perks, turns out! so now there’s just the evening-tasks left, and i don’t have to force myself to do others / abandon them because it’s late and i’m tired.
  • i’m grateful that i’m tired enough for an early-ish bedtime. still a bit too late considering i need to be at uni at 9 a. m. tomorrow, but still decently early for me.

  3. The cake we made Mom was a bit of an experiment but it turned out pretty good! Needs a bit of tweaking for next time, but good so far.

  • self-gratitude: i’m grateful i was motivated enough to walk 10 000 steps today. the last 2 000 or so were just walking up and down in the flat, but better walking inside than laying on the couch inside all day?
  • i’m grateful my duolingo streak is sill going strong. i’m in the diamond leage again, whoo! let’s see how long this will last … even though i extended my streak only like an hour or so before midnight and got an xp boost i’m still only in third place, and probably won’t make it to the top 3 by the end of the week, but we’ll see!

Some truly incredible Beyond burgers last night on our new grill, out by the pool, with gentle rainfall, and my wife and dog playing on the other side of the patio… really living the suburban dream and it’s really concretizing how worth it all the hassle of house-hunting and renovations and maintenance has been.

  • self-gratitude: i’m grateful i made the phone call this morning! i now have an appointment, which i didn’t know i needed, so it’s a good thing i called so (relatively) early. (appointment is in over a month as well.)
  • i’m grateful for the great theater piece we saw tonight. very powerful.
  • i’m grateful that thursday is a holiday. one of my goals is orange today, but i feel too tired now to do anything about it, and also i need sleep anyway because i have to go to work tomorrow. but if in 24 hours i feel the same way about this i won’t have that excuse, so i’ll hopefully manage to avert the beemergency :)

  • self-gratitude: i’m grateful i played around with some picrews again today. picrews are so fun!
  • i’m grateful tomorrow is a holiday. no going-to-work! i will probably struggle really hard with my steps goal, especially since i can’t take my headphones on a walk (cable dead and don’t have a new one yet :cry:), but we’ll see … (yes i used this same gratitude yesterday but sshhh. maybe i’ll be able to think of a fourth one to make up for it.)
  • self-gratitude: i’m grateful i did some bare minimum on my beemergency goal today. it was truly such a bare minimum that i’ll have to do another bare minimum tomorrow as well, but that’s how life goes, i guess. :) definitely feel like i’ll have an easier time with it tomorrow now that only half of a bare minimum task is left? :sweat_smile:
  • self-gratitude: i’m grateful i managed to keep up my streaks on both duolingo and skritter today. (there we have it, another goal; so this feels less like cheating :p and another self-gratitude as well! :clap:) didn’t do skritter in the morning as usual, but managed to squeeze in a few minutes later in the day, so yay for that!

  1. SGQ: I (and my wife) went to practice tennis yesterday even though it was hot and still had a good time! Proud of us for setting goals and sticking to 'em, especially since she’s not really Type Bee and can’t just externalize her goal-motivation as easily.
  2. Ursula K. Le Guin’s Earthsea books. I’m working through re-reading them at the moment, and they’re just so incredibly good.

  • i’m grateful that my daily sleep-journal-routine forces me to note down the time of my alarm for the next day before i go to sleep each night. when there’s no alarm there’s nothing to note in that section and that’s perfectly fine as well! but having it at all is hugely helpful, because my alarms aren’t always the same for each weekday, and when there’s just one holiday/day off a week it means that i’ll likely disable my alarm not only for that day but for another as well (for example, wednesday and thursday have the same alarm times). so reviewing my alarms each night means i can’t accidentally forget to turn on my alarms again where needed! [this gratitude was brought to you by Unnecessarily Complicated Explenations and Yesterday’s Post-Gratitude-Journaling-Thoughts]
  • i’m grateful for the meal we cooked and were able to enjoy today.
  • self-gratitude: i’m grateful i managed o meet my steps goal today even without going outside. walking up and down the flat wasn’t the most fun, but it was easier than leaving the house, and steps are steps.

  • i’m grateful i got to take a walk with my flatmate today. if he hadn’t had the time, i would have probably resigned myself to a couch day and my steps goal would have derailed. glad it didn’t! we even got to see a more uncommon bird at the end (although i don’t know what it’s called).
  • self-gratitude: i’m grateful i did a minor thing to keep my ndu goal from derailing. wasn’t fully motivated, but it only took a few minutes (and also will be due again, tomorrow, but that should be doable as well …), so yay!
  • i’m grateful the new series i just started only releases two episodes a week. there’s only two episodes out so far, which means i have to wait for the next one and cannot fully binge half the season now in a daynight … horrible for my impatience, but very good for my sleep and thus overall wellbeing, probably!

(somehow it feels weird to have three posts in a row here, but i simply refuse to let go of my perfect 130+ day streak for the sake of not feeling spammy :p)
