- Went to a friend’s wedding (the one mentioned in a previous gratitude post). It was a beautiful ceremony, a fun reception, and the couple loved the show we put on for them.
- Broke out the nail art kit again. I now have spooky Halloween nails with ghosts, bats, and spider webs.
- Got the kids’ Halloween costumes done in time for trick-or-treating.
- Went out with friends the other night and had a great time! Will probably go out with them again some time in the next couple weeks, before one of them moves away.
- Enjoying not having to vacuum as my roomba takes care of it!
- Have been making really good progress on my latest attempt at Kondo-Marie-ing, and feeling good about it!
- Our gas/electricity meters should be replaced today, hopefully fixing the issues with not getting gas readings. Fingers crossed!
- I ended up reading fifty books in October. Super satisfying.
- Plans to meet a friend tomorrow.
- The central heating control unit that seemed to be broken fixed itself quickly. No idea what happened there, but at least it’s working now.
- My raid group in FFXIV saw part two of the fight we’re working on. Only briefly, but still, we saw it!
- Found something for Dad for Christmas that I think he’ll enjoy a lot.
- Have been sleeping well lately, and it’s nice!
- Dinner was really good!
- Had a nice chat with a friend this evening!
- One of my free company members in FFXIV gave me one of the minions I didn’t have yet.
- Freed up a fair bit of shelf space by admitting I’m not interested in a book series anymore. (The Daisy Dalrymple books by Carola Dunn.)
- Getting into full planning mode for my wife’s Christmas presents this year.
- Doing super well with various reading goals this year. I wanna post more about that closer to the end of the year, but I have a warm glow of satisfaction right now, soooo I’m grateful.
- Work was a lot yesterday, but today’s going better.
- Getting a bit more active again now Injuries Various have improved.
- My FFXIV friend group managed to get almost everyone a mount from the second extreme fight of Dawntrail remarkably quickly.
- There were some good bits in the Wales v Argentina game, even though we lost.
- It’s quite bright and sunny today, so I think I’m gonna slip out on my bike for a bit despite the threats of rain from the forecast. Hurrah for a window of sunshine!
- We had so much fun, as a family, watching the World Series this year! I’m thankful for that, and that the Dodgers won!
- My book club has led to some new and interesting friendships. I’m thankful that I’ve gotten to know these folks better!
- We get to stay home for Thanksgiving this year. I’m looking forward to it!
-
Local corner store got my favorite energy drink back in stock after being out for awhile.
-
Ordered the kids Advent calendars and started gathering Thanksgiving supplies. I’m starting to look forward to the holidays.
-
Daughter asked for conditioner with pink dye instead of her usual stuff. It made her hair so soft, her curls look nice, and the pink makes her so happy. It might just be that the promise of pink hair meant she actually let it sit longer, but whatever gets her to take care of her it, I’m happy.
- Managed to meet up with a friend.
- Was able to get my friend a treat!
- A favourite dinner tonight.
- I thiiiink my migraine’s fading off quickly.
- It’s time for me to kick into high gear with sorting out Christmas/advent presents, and I’m excited. So much fun.
- Apparently there’s a new Dar Williams album! Has been for a while. I haven’t loved her last couple albums in the way I love Mortal City, The Green World and End of the Summer, but it’s still Dar. So I must listen to that soon.
- Managed to help a friend cheer up.
- Surprisingly chipper this morning. A good mood is always nice, even if I don’t understand whence it came.
- My continuing reading mood!
- My new asthma nurse has made a change to my medication I’ve been pushing for each time I had a review for the last 3-4 years!
- Managed to get decent sleep despite having to get up a bit early, whew.
- Impulsively read a book I totally hadn’t planned to read, and it turned out to be perfect for my mood.
- [Thing I can’t currently talk about which is potentially good.]
- Lisa is the one sorting all that out.
- Had fun with Christmas orders today, my bank account might regret that later.
- Had a couple delicious cocktails tonight. Well, some in the Discord server might consider this something to not be grateful for, given my hand-wringing over my relationship with alcohol. But I approve of making something high-effort and delicious I love.
- Still on the topic of food & drink: chakli has cemented itself in my life as a delicious and beloved snack, and I’m enjoying eating some right now.
- Went to a really good talk today!
- Still super pleased with the effect of my various reading goals in combination this year.
- My sister dropped by last night to fuss with the rabbits, and the rabbits were clearly pleased with the attention.
- My FFXIV static made really good progress on the raid on Monday. Here’s hoping we can maintain it tonight!
-
Furlough is over and my husband got his back pay. He actually had to work during the shutdown, and there were questions about how quickly he would get the pay, but it happened more quickly than we expected.
-
Quest Snakes, a board game a pre-ordered months ago, arrived and it is so much fun.
-
Pulled out the hot water bottles plushies for myself and the kids. I do not care for cold weather, but at least cuddling a warm stuffed triceratops can add some whimsy to the miserable weather.
- Soooo much reading this weekend. (Eight books finished.)
- Still ridiculously pleased with how much my reading goals have helped this year.
- A quiet weekend with no need to be social at all.
- Last night my static made some really amazing progress; it felt like everything just clicked! We only did like 13 “pulls” (from first attacking the boss to death), because almost all of them were meaningful progress. Only a little bit of the fight left to go…
- Binge reading Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation is pretty fun.
- Maybe identified some stressors to eliminate them.
