- Because my controller doesn’t seem to hurt my wrist, I’ve been digging through my Steam backlog for games that work well with controller and playing those during my time off, and having quite a bit of fun playing around and finding new stuff to enjoy.
- Several appointments now lined up conveniently during my time off.
- Watching my body actually figure out how to relax a bit, according to my Oura ring. Normally I get hours of stressed time every day and very minor amounts of restorative time, if any, but I’ve been getting quite a bit this week.

- Rereading a manga series I enjoyed is helping me catch up with my reading goal, and it’s a lot of fun.
- It currently feels pretty easy, even fun, to get my to-do list done for the day, and I start doing lots of extra stuff for blog networking etc etc.
- We’ve managed to rig up a converter for the tap so we can have a little showerhead in the main bathroom, which is convenient for cleaning the tub and doing a quick hairwash and such. Hurrah for me for thinking of it and finding the shower attachment, and Lisa for figuring out where to ask for help in how to actually get it to attach to the tap, and the guy in Wickes for suggesting a thing that converts taps for garden hoses.

- 15% extra on books sold back to Bookloop this weekend! Don’t mind if I do, I had a stack building up ready to send back, just not sure if I have the right sized box.
- Lazy day ahead; though I need to go out for appointments on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, today I can stay home all safe and snug.
- I’ve been mostly sleeping through the night without needing to go down to the spare bed for the last couple of months. I’ve been trying hard not to put any particular importance on that – getting stressed about being sensitive to noise in the night won’t help – but it’s still nice to see I’m getting some solid, uninterrupted sleep.

- 73/100 tokens for the first gatherer mount in FFXIV! I’ve been putting time into it here and there over the last few months, but I might push for the finish line now. A small and frivolous goal, but happy-making.
- Appointment today about my wrist, for hopefully some forward motion other than “rest”.
- I have a spare pair of glasses again, whew. Specsavers gave me a new frame for free since the previous one broke in less than a year, and just swapped my old lenses into them, so that was pretty speedy now I finally got round to it.

- Thankful that I was able to get everything ready for us to hunker down and stay warm before the snow storm started.
- Kids did well with eLearning today.
- My cat’s new medicine arrived before the storm did. It is a tiny bit more expensive than the pills, but it’s mailed to our house instead of me having to pick it up, and it is so much easier to give to him.

- Finally had my wrist properly examined and got physio advice. Four weeks in a splint ahead of me and some nasty physio too, oof, but at least there’s a plan of action.
- Dentist appointment today, and Mum’s coming with me to help in case I freeze up etc. I wish it was still the dentist I trust, but we’ll make do.
- New library card from the National Poetry Library! Any UK resident can get one (I wrote a blog post about it).

- My dentist appointment was okay. Not the “everything is fine” I was hoping for, but nothing unduly frightening either.
- New crafting/gathering content in FFXIV! It’s not that different to the previous lot, but there are new targets to hit, so it’s fun.
- My blog is busy and active due to me having plenty of time to chat with other bloggers during my time off. Hopefully I can maintain it somewhat now I’ve found some new friends!

- Have been rereading HPMOR and enjoying it quite a lot. Of course, probably not the most productive thing to do, but lots of fun.
- I absolutely love that having a Roomba now means I don’t need to vacuum manually.
- Dinner tonight was really good!

- Lisa found me a wrap-around heating pad for my arm to help with the pain from the physio. It’s very soothing.
- Lisa’s also been indulging me with some snacks we don’t usually get to bribe me to keep at the physio, ahaha.
- Received a review copy of Heather Fawcett’s new book from the publisher!

- My husband and son got the driveway shoveled quicker than I expected and the city got the plow down our street pretty quickly too.
- Daughter’s IEP meeting went as well as could be expected. She’s still struggling with reading and writing, but the supports in place have helped keep it from being a major problem for her in math and science, which are her strong suits. Those supports will be kept in place, along with increasing the one on one reading and writing instruction she receives.
- Got my mammogram and annual check up scheduled, not happy to have to do these things, but I am grateful that they are available to me.

- Back to work and turns out my laptop is actually a bit more comfy to type on than my mechanical keyboard when I’m wearing my splint. Still love a mechanical keyboard, but right now this is good.
- Getting stuff done pretty well for someone whose sleep was disrupted by early construction workers…
- My raid group are helping out former members with their new raid groups. I hoped that’d happen and we’d get connected to more people in an organic sort of way, so it’s nice to see it’s worked.

- I’ve been taking a chance on random poetry collections I might not like because of my new National Poetry Library card, and I actually rather enjoyed one today that sounded not-my-thing (Hedonism, by Chris McCabe – apparently also available on Kobo Plus). Some poems I didn’t like at all, but some that really grabbed me.
- Playing with the bunnies in work breaks. They both have paws on my feet right now, begging me to come play.
- I have been a little decadent and bought heated slippers, which should arrive today. Heated gloves were such a gamechanger for me with my Raynaud’s disease. I need them a lot less in the current house, thankfully, it’s way better insulated – but I’m still struggling a bit with my feet. Thankful that I can make quality-of-life purchases like this!

- Had a great conversation with an out-of-town friend who was visiting today
- Have been having a lot of fun / making progress at work lately. Have an interesting idea I’m excited to be able to work on soon.
- Have been loving the second season of the Medalist anime adaptation this far!

- The price of international postage is currently exactly twice that of domestic first class postage, so I’ve been able to just order some cool domestic first class stamps and I’ll put two onto each international card I send. They’re pretty neat, they’re reproductions of Victorian stamps.
- My new slippers can both prevent Raynaud’s attacks and gently reverse them, which is expected but still very welcome.
- Dad’s going to come over probably next week and clean our shower for us, because Lisa’s already a bit overwhelmed with doing extra household tasks, and it won’t be a good idea medically for me to do it for some weeks yet. I’m relieved because it’s getting pretty icky where I can’t scrub it without hurting myself, and it’s really bothering me, but I didn’t want to bother Lisa about it because I know they’re trying really hard to keep up with the stuff I normally do and can’t on top of their own chores.

- Stood up for my own need for a quiet evening without raiding tonight. Not always easy for me to do, so, yay me.
- Watching the rain from inside.
- Really enjoying A History of England in 25 Poems (Catherine Clarke).

- People who make guides and walkthroughs for games! Specifically the person who posted a solution for a level of Bento Blocks that was driving me mad last night, right now, but these folks in general are great.
- Dad’s gonna take Lisa to an appointment next week, which makes things a lot easier all-round in case they end up not being allowed to drive afterwards. He’s also very sweet and incurious.
- Someone on here (I think @cthulhucultist?) mentioned the game Quest Snakes, and I actually ordered it as a surprise for Lisa for Christmas and semi-forgot about it. After a number of issues (which they eventually told me about when I remembered and contacted them to ask why my order hadn’t shipped), my order should finally arrive today. I’ve been trying to get more card and board games for me and Lisa to play, together or with others, and this looks like it might be a bit more complex than most of the ones we have so far, so should be fun.
