- Maths! I used to love it at school. I’m out of practice now but it’s still fun.
- At work last year, a client ignored a recommendation I made, and today they reported a problem that would not have happened if they’d followed my recommendation. Annoying but also gratifying because I WAS RIGHT.
- Lovely rain and wind today.

- After heavy rain today, the park smelled like a forest when I walked to the shops this evening.
- The river was running strongly and making enthusiastic splashing sounds.
- WandaVision. It’s so much fun.

- Once again my friends, who spoil me, and also/especially Portal Bookshop, who have enabled my meeting with many other lovely people, and sent me a lovely note and an extra book with my latest order.
- I have to start with a new therapist soon, but at least the service got that sorted out really promptly this time so I will actually only have my first appointment with the new person a day later than I would’ve had my next appointment with the previous therapist. I mean, it’s a service my insurance are paying for, this isn’t a miraculous revolution in the NHS standard of care… but it is nice to feel that I’m in pretty safe hands.
- A friend of mine who got kicked out of her home is safe with her family. That could have gone badly since she was estranged from her family for a while, but they came through for her, thank goodness.
- Only a few more days until the new K.J. Charles book is out…!

- I’ve slept better than usual for the past couple of nights.
- Lots of reading today.
- Finished the main storyline of FFXV today, after finally getting to level 120. And I beat Omega Weapon! It was nice to have the time.
- I’ve restarted my backlog goals again on Beeminder, because things got on top of me again. It’s nice to know that I’ve got that at my fingertips as a way of getting back on track.
- @bee has made some improvements to our admin sidebar, yaaay.
- Even though I went to bed really stupidly late, I woke up with quite a lot of energy.
- Slowly, I think my days off are starting to make me feel less burned out. Or maybe my reduction in the number of Beeminder goals. Either way!

- I won a book in a giveaway and it arrived today!
- I wrote my Postcrossing cards last night so now I have to go post them today to make the travel time stats accurate… meaning I will actually get some exercise today. Using my OCD-adjacent instincts for good, yay!
(NB: I’m being literal in saying OCD-adjacent, not saying “I’m a little bit OCD” to describe a liking for order! I’m trying to use the disordered way my brain works for my benefit.)

- The way the sunlight in my garden is dappled by the trees.
- Cheese sandwiches, especially with thick layers of cheese and butter. (If you make it an open sandwich and pause before eating, then the calories and cholesterol can escape out the top.

- My inbox zero routine that I’ve been using for a few weeks now. I have three sets of browser bookmarks (urgent morning, less urgent morning, evening) and I go through them each day to handle all new items. It brings a small amount of control to what would otherwise be chaos and makes me feel relaxed because I know that if (as an important example) I’ve bookmarked a limited-time cheap book offer in Twitter, I won’t forget about it until it’s too late!

- I’m enjoying live-tweeting a book I’m rather fond of and talking about some aspects of my MA dissertation (which I wrote partly about this book). It’s nice to turn back to something so familiar and yet so inconsequential for my current life.
- I’m planning on doing a lot of rereading in the next couple of weeks, for Reasons, so I will probably keep having the little happinesses re #1.
- My therapist has been proactive about getting in touch and letting me know how our first session will go.
- A workmate encouraged me to go home early when I wasn’t feeling well (a splitting headache appeared shortly after getting home so that was good advice).
- Jeremy fed me painkillers and vegemite toast until I felt better.
- Toast in general.

- We have some leftover rabbit medication so we can easily take care of Hulk while she’s not keen on eating (probably due to antibiotics).
- The dress I bought on a whim is really cute. I need a size up, but I’m pretty sure that will fit, so this still counts as a good thing.
- I think I’m doing a reasonable job of controlling my anxiety, even though there have been some anxiety-making things.
- The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. I have the audio book and have listened to it a few times.
- Geckos. We have many here and they’re so cute when they’re scuttling around, especially when they’re on the outside of the windows and you can see their little tummies.

- I have some sweets left I can suck to distract me from my sore tongue!
- I have lots and lots of coping mechanisms for my anxiety. It doesn’t feel like they’re working right now, but they will.
- When she was sitting on my shoulder today, little Biscuit Bun turned round to groom the side of my face.
- There were four lizards in the garden this morning, instead of the normal maximum of three. I suspect that the new one may actually have been a lizard that used to hang around all the time and let me hand feed him when he was tiny, because he was much less nervous about being near me than the others are. I’ve been wondering if he had died so it’s nice to think this may be him!
- One lizard stayed in one place for long enough for me to use him as the focus for a full meditation session.
- How to Survive an Epic Journey by Tansy Rayner Roberts. OMG! A retelling of some Greek mythology from the wonderful Atalanta’s perspective. I love it to bits.
- Hulk ate her morning pellets very eagerly.
- Something I wrote meant a lot to someone and they took the time to let me know.
- Just had a nice cuddle with Eclair, who doesn’t always want to cuddle me. (I am not his favourite. Each bunny has a favourite; Hulk and Eclair both prefer my wife, but will cuddle me, while Biscuit prefers me by a very very large margin. It evens out.)
- Our cat keeping me company through a night of severe insomnia.
- A day spent mostly reading and tidying the kitchen. It looks nicer now.
- A mother possum visiting us with her cute baby on her back.

- I joked that William Sitwell’s The Restaurant: A History of Eating Out should be the source material for a Good Omens fanfic, and I’m delighted with the new knowledge – now I’m reading it – that the first coffeehouse in Britain was called “The Angel”. Apparently I was more right than I knew.
- Wales v England game today. I’m trying not to hope for too much, but I do have some hope after we held on against Scotland and Ireland.
- It was really easy to switch over from LastPass to Bitwarden.
