- My second screen meant I could do grindy stuff in my game and watch the old 1970s adaptation of the Lord Peter mysteries all at the same time.
- I’ve been sleeping better the last couple of nights.
- My weighted blanket is comfy to sleep under all year round – warm enough on its own in winter, and yet somehow also cool enough in summer.
- Fresh morning air after overnight rain.
- A brisk breeze and fluffy white clouds scudding across a bright blue sky.
- A full moon in a clear night sky.
- Lions game today – captained by a Welshman (who fought his way back from an injury that was supposed to have him out for the whole season).
- Bought a better-quality (I hope) monitor for my second screen now that the proof of concept is, well, proven. Should even arrive tomorrow!
- Better mood today.
- The Lions won!
- Seeing my parents and Simone today.
- Lisa’s made cake.

- Woke up at 8:20am feeling ready to go. I hope that sticks, actually; for a couple of months now I’ve felt groggy and weird until 9:30am, no matter when I went to bed. But either way, I’ll enjoy it as it is for now.
- The weather has cooled down significantly.
- Saw the stars a bit last night. Don’t often get to around here because our neighbour throws fits if we make any noise at night, including going outside!
- I had a long sleep in this morning.
- Jeremy made cupcakes using my favourite cake and icing combination.
- Jeremy is making smashed potatoes for dinner.

- I actually needed a hot water bottle last night! Okay, needed is a big word, but the sheets were chilly and I was wearing summer PJs and I don’t warm up on my own very easily, so Lisa warmed the bed up for me with a hot water bottle and then I kept it and was very contentedly snuggly with it.
- Finally finished a book I was finding tedious. Only really stuck with it because it was a book club book.
- My dad went to ridiculous lengths to get me ginger beer and the kind of chocolate I like, because they keep being sold out/not in stock in the shops. (They’re not expensive or rare or anything, so it’s weird they’re short at the moment – I guess it’s one of the issues with lots of people self-isolating.)
- I’ve worked a bit too much on other days so I get to have a long break in the middle of today.
- Lots of coping mechanisms and ways to get it out when I have intrusive thoughts. Thanks, therapy!
- Lisa got a bonus from work this year.
- Spent time with my family for a child’s birthday party.
- Watching Lucifer with a friend.
- Cheese and biscuits for dinner.
- A long sleep-in
- Pea and ham soup
- Rewatching Blackadder
- We’ve entered lockdown again, instead of ignoring a new (so far small) outbreak of delta.
- French ommlette for breakfast. Such mouth-feel! Where have you been all my life?
- Tilly Wallace’s Manners and Monsters series. I’ve just finished the third book and am happy that there are four more ahead of me…
- Now I have a physical copy of The Witness for the Dead by Katherine Addison. Deeply contemplating rereading The Goblin Emperor again, just to, um, set the stage. Yeah.
- Feeling in the mood to read.
- Finally done with the monitoring period of our noise complaint to the council.

- I have a new washing up bowl - metal and shiny and large enough to rest across the edges of the sink with a decent gap to one side for tipping dirty soaking water down the drain.
- I have a new poncho in a mutlicoloured zigzag pattern.
- This cute example from a thread about notetaking methods: ‘someone might say “The moon is made of green cheese”, and I might have a margin note “disproven experimentally by Armstrong & Aldrin.”’

- Rereading The Goblin Emperor! Sometimes I worry it’ll wear out, I read it so much, yet so far that hasn’t been the case.
