- I’m flying to north Queensland today for a holiday for a few days.
- Waking up early and seeing the early morning stars and the sunrise.
- There are swallows at the airport, swooping around.

- I always forget the money Lisa sends me toward the rent when I’m budgeting, so it’s like free money every month. And tada! It’s free money day! I can get more stamps for Postcrossing even though it didn’t fit into my original budget for this month.
- In a reading mood.
- New drawers from Ikea so we can tidy up our clothes more!
- On Sundays, I start up Final Fantasy XIV early and play mini-games at the “Gold Saucer” during my breaks, and I have been looking forward to it this week. So, yay Sunday and yay for Final Fantasy XIV’s silly mini-games.
- Enjoying a book on the battle of Brunanburh (the poem about which I studied as an English lit undergrad, o so long ago).
- Lisa doesn’t work Sundays, so I get to listen to music while I work, too!
- Cool, rainy days. Okay, we can’t hang the laundry outside, but going for a walk will be nice.
- Got to a climactic bit of FFXIV last night. I do enjoy this game’s story!
- Still in a reading mood.
- Tuesdays are the day designated for Lisa’s mental health walks, which means today I get to go walkies round the lake!
- There will probably be squirrels, and there will definitely be baby coots.
- Allllmost finished rereading the third Kate Daniels book, and having many giggles. It’s such a fun series.
- I’ve been on holidays for the past few and upcoming few days and it’s been lovely. Having intermittent internet access is good for me – and OMG I’ve just thought maybe I should beemind time spent with internet access turned off on all my devices!
- Cassowaries!! I visited a friend who lives in the middle of bush and who has actual cassowaries in her garden every day. On my first visit I was impressed by the piles of cassowary poo on her lawn (yes, impressed, wild animals are awesome). On my second visit, there were THREE ACTUAL CASSOWARIES!!! A matriarch (who usually wouldn’t be seen with the rest of her family; the females are not social), her teenage chick still with its brown colouring but half the height of an adult and cute as buttons, and the father who you expect to see with the chick because he looks after them. They were majestic. I fed them bit of fruit from a distance (one does not approach a cassowary if one wants to live). On my third visit, just the female was there at first, and then the other two arrived! This was the highlight of the trip and indeed the year so far. There will be photographs as soon as I get organised.
- Crocodiles! They are pretty cool too! I went on a croc-viewing boat ride and saw three females and one huge male (from a significantly greater distance than the cassowaries of course). They hold their mouths open to keep their brains cool when they are lying in the sun! It’s impressive. From a distance.

- Quiet day with lots of breaks planned in. I think it helped my brain recharge.
- Rereading a book I loved as a teen. I’m worried the suck fairy will have visited, buuut I’m still having fun so far.
- Listening to an older Thea Gilmore album that I never appreciated enough when it was new.
- Did some of tomorrow’s chores today so I will have less to do on my day off.
- The foot peel thing I did has got rid of some nasty rough bits on my feet, as I hoped. One of my fellow mods on Habitica suggested these things and it’s great.
- End of a busy week!
- Figured out crafting macros on FFXIV, which means I can read while only mildly keeping an eye on my screen while I grind out collectibles.
- I have figured out I’ve paid 20p per hour of entertainment on FFXIV (and that’s with a few optional purchases). That’s definitely a ratio I’m okay with!
- The Lions and the Welsh team are playing today.
- Now that I’m back home after being away for a week, our cat is being extra-friendly to me.
- Jeremy makes great salads.
- I have cold roast chicken to snack on.
- Attended someone’s “ceremony of eternal bonding” today on FFXIV, which was an excuse for pretty dresses and silly games…
- …And playing Pummel Party on Steam with folks from the FC, on voice chat. Pretty funny!
- We think we’ve figured out how to get two monitors working on my desk! Only for my gaming computer, not for work, but still good.
- I’ve slept well for three days in a row.
- I was given a pretty tea cup and saucer set so I’ve been using that for four morning cups of tea poured from a teapot, rather than my usual single big mug. It’s helping me enjoy the tea more instead of drinking on autopilot.
- Sunshine on a cold day.
- Playing around with Altbee and figuring out a nice way to organise my dashboard.
- Feeling like maybe I’ve got my motivation back and want to DO things.
- Plans for some of my Hobbit Birthday stuff.
- Also playing with Altbee! It’s great for a quick overview as part of my morning routine.
- Our vegetable delivery today included strawberries so breakfasts will be extra-tasty for the next few days.
- Honey.
- I have two screens now on my gaming computer!
- Will have dinner with my parents this weekend.
- It’s the 9th anniversary of my cholecystectomy! So I’m grateful my gallbladder got yoinked, but also grateful that I’ve finally had the mental health care to get over the PTSD from the operation (plus the death of my grandad a month later) this very year.
- Pomodoros make long slow work days easier to bear.
- Warm socks and beanies.
- Cocktail franks for dinner.
- It’s cooler here today, at least at the start of the day.
- My yearly birthday giveaway stuff is beginning.
- My dad and sister came through with a favour for me for something we forget to put in our shopping order!

- Vegemite toast and tea for breakfast, on a pretty tea cup and plate set.
- Tai chi is helping me feel relaxed.
- Lots of walking time today because of the way I planned my day.
- Reading an ARC of a book about indexes, and rather entertained by the idea of political sniping at a rival through the medium of index entries.
- Having a strictish timetable today meant I got the right work done (FINALLY, in some cases).
- An easy day at work.
- A surprise, short thunderstorm, just enough to be interesting without doing any damage.
- Pleasant feedback from a client.
