- The story I made up of how this was the highlight of his day (past hour?). “Finally, something moved!”. He sits there watching my house a lot.

- There was rugby to watch today.
- Lots of wrapping and stuff for my wife’s advent calendar (which I’m making myself). So glad to have the means to do something as extravagant as this for them. (I saved up all year to do it.)

- My relaxed week really helped my mood and productivity.
- Really nice breadsticks bought because my usual cheaper ones were out of stock. Like… these are actively tasty breadsticks rather than merely a hummus vehicle.
- Spotify’s yearly playlists. I’m listening to my 2020 playlist, marvelling at the number of these songs that I’d forgotten about. (Obviously the older ones are even more revelatory.)
- Reading books, having Beeminder nudging me to do so and having people around me being nudged as well as a result.
- Emacs, org-mode and beeminder.el, which already does everything I was planning (hoping) to implement myself.
- Our very own @mbork, for writing a book on Emacs Lisp. Congrats! I’m sure he’ll post about this himself sometime, so I’m just mentioning it here in a corner of the forum. Grateful, since I’m just getting into Emacs Lisp again and this is probably just what I need, at the right time.

Wow, now I feel called out. Yes, I did write the book, thanks for mentioning it! (Also, I realized that I didn’t thank Beeminder in the introducton. Oops. What a shame. I’ll fix it in the next update.)
And since I’m here, let me write my 3 cents points. (There are lots more, but 3 for now – not even the most important ones – far from that!)
- Beeminder exists. It transformed my life, and I might even be at a point I don’t need it anymore, but I don’t intend on stopping using it.
- The sales of my Emacs Lisp book went absolutely insane. I was hoping to sell 100 copies long-term, and I sold about 120 yesterday. This is just ridiculous – it is roughly equivalent to 2 months’ worth of my salary in one day. (And yes, I’m aware that it’s not really “in one day” – it is a result of several years of learning and a year of writing, but still.)
- Last year I started watching Doctor Who, and I love the show (even if I often wildly disagree with its message…). I watch it with my daughter, so I have to translate subtitles into Polish. I managed to translate over 50 episodes over the course of almost 13 months (thanks, Beeminder – again!), and I am having a great time!
