  1. Thanks to imyril’s enthusiasm, I’ve picked up some of Premee Mohamed’s novellas, and it’s a very good time so far.
  2. Being more active on Litsy and Dreamwidth means a lot more support and chitchat and enthusiasm in my day. I did miss it.
  3. My GP can do the surgery to remove the (benign) tumour on my leg, if I want. I don’t need to, it’s totally harmless – but if I want to, then the surgery is readily available.
  1. In an online meeting today, I had microphone issues, which was embarrassing but I am grateful that two other people after me had similar trouble so I don’t feel so bad about it.

  1. I’ll be able to drop by my parents’ house tonight and pick up some of my books that I’m in the mood to reread.
  2. Reread Howl’s Moving Castle. Love the fact that Howl’s Welsh, and all the details showing that – his rugby jersey, the fact that he played rugby (on the wing), his obvious Welsh accent (if you know and you know Welsh accents, you can really tell in the rhythm of his dialogue, which is a nice touch), his name being Howell Jenkins and his alias as Wizard Pendragon…
  3. The replacement back for my chair is coming soon, and they don’t seem to be being fussy about wanting the old back in return? Which makes sense, it’s partly broken and also arrived with a damaged lump in it, but still. Some places insist on really fussy returns processes.

@alys I just read your post quickly and my brain mashed #1 and #2 together and had your cat saying “great job as always”, to which I just thought “what a nice, polite cat” for a moment.

Thought that might entertain you!

  1. New chairback arrived! They do want the old one back, but waited to have the replacement in my hands first. Which is helpful.
  2. I now have 3 months of expenses plus an extra emergency pot of money all saved up in case of emergencies.
  3. I spent some frivolous money in ways that give me joy (like pretty items on FFXIV).

@shanaqui  I have never yet met a cat that polite.

  1. Cats. Annoying but fun.
  2. Due to me misreading an email from my manager, I have completed an annoying task a whole week early and now can forget about it.
  3. Jeremy is away for a couple of days so I get the house to myself! I love having him around but solitude is also nice occasionally.

  1. Starting my Saturday out as best as I can by doing a bunch of stuff while Lisa’s getting ready for bed.
  2. The fact that me and Lisa always go to bed at the same time. I know other couples don’t, and it isn’t always a 100% great fit for us as I need less sleep (usually), but… there’s a lot to enjoy about it too.
  3. Used a Twitter poll to break through my indecision about what to read, meaning I did get to read a bit tonight.
  1. I have four tabs open in my browser. FOUR! Not the dozens that are more common. Even better, three of them are much-used tabs that make sense to have open permanently.
  2. Sandwiches.
  3. I spent an hour sitting in a comfy chair reading, with a pot of tea.
  1. The sneaky way that cats will appear perfectly happy on a chair by themselves but as soon as you leave the room, they’ll jump onto your chair.
  2. My cat lying on the chair next to me, asleep with her head resting on the edge of my laptop.
  3. All the trees in my garden.

  1. Reading a book and just steaming through it. I miss that experience when my brain doesn’t allow it.
  2. Got to bed on time so woke up early for work but feeling refreshed.
  3. Going over to see my parents tonight, and my dad’s making his chicken and leek in white wine sauce (with sautéed potatoes). :yum:

  1. We went to bed well on time last night. I didn’t sleep super well because I’d had a little too much wine last night and that always disturbs my sleep… but going to bed on time helped.
  2. Using a Chrome browser extension that gives me stretch exercises every 30 mins to also prompt me to stand up for a bit, walk around a bit, etc. It’s helping, I think!
  3. Enjoying the wild weather. Okay, it’s cold, and I’m worried for people who’ve been badly affected, but I really love windy, rainy weather – especially from being cosy inside, but also if I can go out for walks in it.
  1. Music.
  2. Finding an old NCIS fic that I loved and having a reread.
  3. The rain has cleared up so I can probably go for a walk.
  1. There’s a new season of Disenchantment.
  2. I love Bean, the princess from Disenchantment, so much. I want to be like her when I grow up.
  3. Melted butter. It’s my favourite soup.
  1. Red wine.
  2. Google knwos what I mean when I randomly mistype words.
  3. Fish for dinner.
