- I got an answer to my question about how Helicobacter pylori can survive in the acid of the stomach, and it was one of the options I’d thought of. (Basically, it creates alkaline conditions around itself to survive.)
- My dad has found the crockery I used at university, which me and Lisa are going to use to supplement our broken bowls/plates.
- I don’t have as much left to do as I feared.

- An afternoon watching TV with Jeremy.
- Plans for a better work-life balance are underway.
- My package of books from Portal Bookshop arrived!
- They thoughtfully included stickers specially chosen for me, including one that says “take it easy”.
- Celebrated a good friend’s birthday.
- Husband made dried mango
- Everything is ready for Easter tomorrow
- A pretty orange full moon.
- While waiting for an Uber, I checked Beeminder and realised I had enough time to briskly walk up and down the street to meet my aerobic goal.
- I’ve discovered a cunning plan for dealing with mutual gift giving events where I don’t know whether someone will be giving me a gift. Buy a cheap / small item (e.g., a couple of normal Easter Eggs) and an expensive / large item (boxed luxury Eggs), and say to the person when you see them “I got you Easter Eggs!” If they say they didn’t get you any, reply “that’s okay!” and pull out the the cheap ones, thereby avoiding much of the embarrassment for them and over-giving embarrassment for you. The downside is that the expensive gift needs to be one you could realistically give to someone else or – tragically – you may be forced to eat it yourself. So sad. ;).

- The Litsy bingo card really is helping me read more this month.
- Talking through math problems from my class with @clivemeister and @adamwolf. I don’t need the Beeminder Slack Remedial Math Group* as much as I did last year, but sometimes something comes along that boggles me…
* It’s not really a thing, just that Adam and Danny occasionally tried to tutor me through my stats work. I lack a grasp of numbers; as an example, Adam had to teach me why percentages work that way. (I could do percentages by plugging the numbers in where I knew they had to go, I just didn’t follow why.)
- I’m trying out an app called Supporti which matches you up with an accountability buddy for a week-long ‘session’. I don’t know yet if it’s for me, but my current partner is really friendly and enthusiastic, which is nice.
- It’s Easter Monday now, meaning Lisa’s off work and we don’t have to get up as early in the morning (since I don’t start until 9am).
- One of my Easter eggs was a t-rex one, which tickled me.

- I’ve made an epic playlist of almost all the music Thea Gilmore’s ever released. It’s over 16 hours long and I haven’t added the Patreon songs yet… Anyway, the gratitude part is just sheer amazement at how much music Thea Gilmore/Afterlight has put out, and how few duds there are. Her work has been a familiar friend for at least 15 years now.
- Bobby pins! A simple solution to the problem of my hair being too long, until I can finally get an appointment.

This clever thing that Beeminder can do: "You can pre-fill a specific date range by appending it to the URL. For instance, to set breaks for the winter holidays from Dec 24 to Jan 1, the URL would be
beeminder.com/breaks?start=2022-12-24&finish=2023-01-01"

- I found a small python in my room today, and a snake catcher who lives in the same suburb was here in five minutes. It took us ages to extract the snake because he wriggled under some furniture that we then needed to move, but he was eventually caught carefully and released to a nearby forest. The snake catcher was lovely and sent us a picture of the python in his new home.
