How much does ratcheting raise the red line?

Like under the covers how is the number of units to shift the line calculated?

I’ve had a couple times where a goal will have either 2 or 1 units required depending on the day (e.g. 10 units / week), and sometimes the result of ratcheting those is unexpected (e.g. I see in 2 days I will have +1 task, so I ratchet 1 day and then now have +2 in 1 day)

This is a good question that might have a painfully long answer:

Yeah I’ve gone through that maybe 3 or 4 times, and still don’t seem to see it for some reason. The flat spot piece makes sense, and I get the old x-axis shifting behavior, but I haven’t been able to sort out “what is the standard y-axis increment behavior”

Maybe there’s some part of it I haven’t put together or something dumb

Ok after a lot of playing around with the graph editor and reading about decimals I think I get it

I think it was just a rounding issue, and ratcheting raises it by whatever the average day amount is, not by the visible rounded up requirements of each day, which is what was throwing me off

Conveniently, it’s possible to set the exact decimal visibility level

Anyways, as a result I can just enable decimals on all my relevant goals and then it should be pretty easy to tell where the red line will end up after any given ratchet
