How should TaskRatchet import beemergencies?

On TaskRatchet’s considerit page, there’s good signal that folks would like the option to have TaskRatchet import beemergencies as new tasks. Trying to think this through, and I have some questions:

  1. Should this be a toggle that enables importing beemergencies for all your goals, including goals created later? Or would you prefer to be able to select a subset of Beeminder goals to sync?
  2. Should the tasks created in TaskRatchet be something like “Disptach 7 beemergencies” (a rollup) or “Dispatch beemergency for goal X” (one task per beemergency)?
  3. Should satisfying the goal in Beeminder automatically mark the task completed in TaskRatchet?
  4. What should happen if the task is marked complete in TaskRatchet before the Beeminder goal is satisfied? Nothing? Post something back to Beeminder? Or should the checkboxes be disabled for the tasks created this way, so that they have to be completed via Beeminder?
  5. Should these tasks have their own default stakes setting? Or is the existing default stakes setting enough?

If I were to argue for what’s easiest on TaskRatchet’s end, it would be:

  1. Single toggle that enables import from all goals.
  2. Either way is similarly easy to implement, but I’d choose just one or the other and not make this configurable.
  3. Easiest, of course, would be to not complete the task automatically once the goal is satisfied. Though this sounds like such a useful part of the feature I hesitate to argue against it…
  4. Nothing. Marking the task complete would just mark it complete like any TaskRatchet task. Basically a way to say “I’ve done the thing” whether or not Beeminder has figured it out yet (e.g. due to autodata lag).
  5. No separate stakes setting. Uses the global default stakes setting for the account.

Would this mvp (perhaps with the exception of #3) be sufficient?

If I remember why I voted for this, I think the udea was to only import a subset, otherwise you’re just confusing the purpose of Beeminder and TaskRatchet. Be able to modify them once imported to fit the original goal. And definitely send a signal back to Beeminder.
