progress. As long as she’s on the road she can stay flat
indefinitely. But like all Beeminder contracts, a single day above
the road and she forfeits the money.

Disaster, for me, has definetely been averted. I am a full 2 lbs down from
my weight yesterday. This makes me very concerned for Melanie’s plans
because fluctuations are pretty big, for me anyway. Does her bet mean she
literally cannot gain for a single day or she’s off her road? No, there
would still be some width in the road, right?
