One of the best things Beeminder provides is a sense of "enough"

It gives me something to sprint towards every day rather than trying to psych myself up somehow

Just do your X tasks or minutes and you’re good for the day, if you want to crush more great, but if you’re kind of out of it and still want to work there’s a clear endpoint

I just raise that number as needed depending on outside feedback (target dates, personal expectations, etc.)

Knowing how much is enough makes it much easier to handle sleep, because you know when to stop in a somewhat objective way that I’ve decided on and can slowly tune based on real world feedback

Over time you can trust that the rate / amount expected of you is close to optimal (based on your understanding & preferences)

That is a really powerful thing

Knowing how much is enough, and being able to feel proud of results that beat your own expectations

I agree if I have completed all my Beeminder goals I feel a sense of calmness. As I know I have done good for the day. Before Beeminder I would always feel like I had not done “enough”. I have taken a few breaks here and there but at this point Beeminder has just become a needed part of my life.
