Why does my goal for the week show an increase in weight?

I’ve created a weight loss goal with the target of a 3 pound loss in 7 days, but the amount due at the top of the goal page says +2.89 or 260.89 (I’m currently 258). Why is it saying this?

Hi!

I am not 100% sure on this, because there have been a lot of changes in
Beeminder lately (almost all for the good!), but I suspect it is the
"yellow brick road".

There is an area around the goal, called the “yellow brick road”, which is
OK to be in. When you go over the top of the yellow brick road, you are in
trouble.

More details here: http://blog.beeminder.com/roadwidth/

Definitely post back if you have more questions or comments.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it may be something to do with the road width, but that still doesn’t seem like it should result in a positive value.

I checked on the iOS app, and the goal correctly shows a target of -3.75 in 5 days, but the web page (using Chrome browser) shows me the weird +2.89 in 5 days. That has to be a bug right?

I don’t necessarily think this is a bug, except that it’s confusing  .
If the end-date of your goal is in 5 days, the site may tell you you are
allowed to gain 2.89 pounds by the end date and still stay on the yellow
brick road.

I do not know the ios app, so I do not know if it is showing you the “goal”
or the “goal+lane width”.
