A question for Sleep As Android users

Hey all! If you use Sleep as Android, I have a couple of questions while updating our help docs. The most pressing one is: a user told me that you no longer have to pay for an add-on to be able to upload data to Beeminder from Sleep As Android every day. Apparently, you can do that in the free version, and don’t need premium in the Sleep As Android app either.

Is that right? Unfortunately it’s a long time since I’ve used it, and they’ve given me a free trial I can’t turn off, so I haven’t been able to verify it yet – but given the chances that other people use it too, I thought we might be able to find out here before my free trial runs out…

If you don’t need to pay for an add-on, are there still any restrictions? Looks to me like you do need to download the SleepCloud add-on, at the very least, but is there anything else less obvious?

Thanks!

Okay! To the best of my understanding from looking at the app, the SleepCloud add-on is now free… but you still need a premium subscription (and it can’t just be the “lifetime” option) for daily automatic backups. Which is what you’d probably need to fill a Beeminder goal.

You can manually upload data at any time, as far as I can gather.

I’m going to update the help doc today with this information, and recommend an update to the text when creating a goal accordingly.
