beeminder android app now 100% bug free; bug-free iphone app about to hit app store

[crossposted from the beedroid google group]

As far as we know, the lastest version has never had an undetected error!

Ok, but for real, this version seems really solid and we’re getting
ready to put it in Android Market (do I have to start calling it Google
Play now?) just as soon as you all tell us about all the bugs we’ve
missed.

Here’s the apk: http://dreev.es/ba (hit that link from your phone’s
browser, after you check “allow installation from Unknown Sources” in
your phone’s security settings)

Thanks everyone!
Danny and Uluc et al

PS: As we talked about in Launch Anniversary! How Crazy Are We Now? | Beeminder Blog the iphone version is
neck-and-neck with android. A big upgrade to the beeminder iphone app
has been submitted to the app store and is expected to be available
early next week.

hi everyone, sorry for the bugs you may have seen recently as we
transitioned the android app to the new api! the latest version should
resolve all that, with a bunch of other improvements as well:
dreev.es/ba – it’s possible you’ll need to uninstall the app first
and then download it fresh.

would love it if you could check it out again. feel free also follow
along on the beedroid trello board at Trello (let us
know if you have a trello account and we’ll add you as a member so you
can add cards – otherwise you should be able to vote on them and
stuff even without an account).

huge thanks to uluc for all the amazing work on this. i’m blown away
by how close it is to feature-complete with the whole website

A.J., in case this helps:

The same thing was happening for me when I first installed the app,
and I worked out it was because I was using DroidWall (a firewall) and
I had forgotten to adjust DroidWall to allow the Beeminder app to
access the internet. As soon as I changed that, the crashes stopped
and the app has behaved perfectly ever since.

PS: As we talked about in Launch Anniversary! How Crazy Are We Now? | Beeminder Blog the iphone version is
neck-and-neck with android. A big upgrade to the beeminder iphone app
has been submitted to the app store and is expected to be available
early next week.

hi everyone, sorry for the bugs you may have seen recently as we
transitioned the android app to the new api! the latest version should
resolve all that, with a bunch of other improvements as well:
dreev.es/ba – it’s possible you’ll need to uninstall the app first
and then download it fresh.

would love it if you could check it out again. feel free also follow
along on the beedroid trello board at Trello (let us
know if you have a trello account and we’ll add you as a member so you
can add cards – otherwise you should be able to vote on them and
stuff even without an account).

huge thanks to uluc for all the amazing work on this. i’m blown away
by how close it is to feature-complete with the whole website

happy beeminding!

I can see this is an old post, but I can’t seem to find anywhere else to
post beedroid bug reports, so here’s mine:

When opening an auto-updated goal (trello, fitbit, etc.) from the widget,
the direct data entry interface is replaced by a big “fetch new data”
button. This is all well and good. However, if I then open a direct data
entry goal from its widget, the direct data entry field is also replaced
by this button, even though there’s nowhere for it to fetch said data from,
until I totally kill and restart the beedroid app. The expected behavior is
that I get the button for automatic goals and the text boxes for manual
goals.

You can report bugs on the android app from within the app.
