general use of integrations?

hey I am new to beeminder. disclaimer: I am just ranting about my experience and the reality of someone who is very long in the community will differ a lot.
Today I looked at the basics of the idea and now I am trying to automate data input as this is recommended a lot in forums here. I looked at integrations I am interested in for anki, things3 and focusmate. I also took a lot of time to read to the forums and just see what the most active people in this forum do. I saw a lot of them track anki which made me happy because I would find something for sure then. I also looked at the megalist threads which I thought would be the answer to my questions. Though I was struggling to find a great solution here as there were many anki addons that were not working any more or just integrations that seemed to be too complex to get into just by a short explanation on github.
And while so many people track anki there seems to be not much conversation in the forum on it from my perspective, not many guides on the things on youtube or other sides. It would be so great as a newbee to have that.
Also I would be so so so keen and curious to know which integration all of the people use I saw keep track of it when I click on the profile. Because I found that to be so cool to see what other people here track. So it would be so amazing if I click on their profile and see what they track to also be able to see(of course only if they allow it) which integration/github repo they are using.
I found the beeminder anki sync to be the central one every one uses. Though I am looking for something that just tracks if I do my daily cards. But I also realised that many people do their own integrations. Is this the usual way?
From the individual perspective you get the most personalisation but it would of course be so great to just have a common integration which has all the possibilities for individualisation and is a straightforward common solution that is worked on by everyone and is thus easier to find as a newbee. Where all the integrations that are now shared officially like apple health, gmail etc. at the beginning made by users or how is that?
Thanks for reading this. Will see how my journey goes

Yeah unfortunately Anki may not be the easiest to get started with since there isn’t a good easy integration strategy that I’m aware of. You’ll probably have an easier time if you choose something that has an integration already built into Beeminder while you’re still getting used to how Beeminder works. You can see a list of all the built-in integrations during new goal setup.

Hi! There are detailed guides for all of the official integrations – you can find them in the help docs. Each integration’s article has a step-by-step guide. Those integrations are made by Beeminder’s team, and tested and documented before release.

I don’t currently track or document unofficial integrations in the help docs, because we have no control over them and we don’t want to give people the wrong impression. There are some really great third-party integrations, and I know about a fair number, but it’s very hard to write and maintain documentation about third-party stuff we don’t control. It’s so much to track!

Which is not to say I won’t give thought to some kind of help doc that lists stuff we know of, at the very least. That might be possible.

As far as an official Anki integration goes, they don’t have an API and it’s my understanding they don’t plan to have one either, which sort of rules them out as an official integration. That’s why the workarounds are all a bit clunky in some way (when I used it, I’d always have to remember to sync my phone app to Anki Web, and then sync Anki Web to the desktop app, for example). But we do keep an eye out for promising opportunities, because we know an Anki integration would be amazing for a lot of users.

This thread in the forum is the one about the most commonly used Anki add-on (at least in my experience). If you have any questions about that particular add-on, it’s also a good place to ask.

This would be so great.

Is it maybe possible to add this option of the user allows it. Would just give me stats about which ones are the most common and also cool to get inspiration how people track their goals in depth. This way I would not have to search through beeminder journals and other forum entrys.

Maybe it is also possible to boost development of the addons by providing some honey money credits for the users who actively work on them or when you offter them to take it over.
