Hi, I’m looking for a way to incent myself to log my daily nutrition data into Fitbit. I have a bad habit of occasionally forgetting to enter meals, especially if they were harder to quantify ones like restaurant meals, or forgetting to enter entire days worth of meals when I travel for business. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find a way for the Fitbit autosync in Beeminder to do this for me. Beeminder can certainly track the maximum calories I report via Fitbit to keep me under a daily cap, but I can’t find a way to automatically track that I affirmatively entered breakfast, lunch, and dinner data or that I consumed a minimum number of calories which would represent me entering all my data. Am I missing something easy here? Thanks!

Hi! A second goal where you (manually) track the number of meals logged might do the trick.

My non-Beeminder setup to create (and maintain) my daily food logging habit is to use the Pact iOS app (http://www.gym-pact.com) to force me to enter data in MyFitnessPal (http://www.myfitnesspal.com)
(if you want to have your data in Fitbit, MyFitnessPal can sync it’s data to FitBit)
Pact is similar to Beeminder in that it will charge you $5 or $10 for every day that you don’t track at least 3 meals and 1200 calories. If you achieve your commitment you actually end up winning some small amount as well.
With the above setup I’m currently on a 631-day streak on MFP
