- Playing with dogs again. The dog I met for the first time two days ago was delighted to see me and pranced around like a pony.
- Crumbed chicken for lunch.

- Although my fitness is still good, my enthusiasm for fitness is… less so. Grateful that I did a full session today, therefore.
- Lovely long-sleeved top feels appropriately snuggly today
@shanaqui asks about the Snickers cake: Is there a recipe?
Yes, there is! Adjustments made were:
- halve all the ingredients
- use a standard loose-bottomed 23cm cake tin instead of the much larger Bundt tin in the recipe as written (who has a Bundt tin that size anyway?!) Halved volume was perfect for this.
- chopped peanuts were soaked for about 24 hours, so needed a bit more milk to make the texture pourable
- didn’t make the optional chocolate glaze for the top
- (and, for non-Americans, AP Flour = plain white flour, Baking Soda = Bicarbonate of soda)

- SGQ: I signed myself up for a wellbeing program to help myself manage anxiety etc, and I think this is going to be one of the things that really helps me improve my life.
- When I was talking to my wellbeing coach about how I get distracted and anxious, she gave me a phrase that makes me feel so good about myself and so positive about improving: “what can I do to work with my wonderful brain the way it is?”
- The “Those Old Scientists” episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. It was so funny and touching.

- i’m grateful i saw many friends today.
- self-gratitude: i’m grateful i can trust my own opinion, and that that’s enough sometimes. (i just finished an atrocious short series, and while the reviews i found online were mixed, i didn’t find any that mentioned the huge qualms i personally had with the ending; but instead of needing to add a review and make me mad again i’m just letting it be, knowing that i’m right [ok i know how this sounds
:p
]) - i’m grateful i don’t have to be at work until the afternoon tomorrow.

- self-gratitude: i’m grateful my most recent derailments were conscious decisions rather than just happening because i was overwhelmed and in head-in-the-sand-mode. (one was at $0, and the other would have required a very doable 600-ish more steps today, but for whatever reason i decided i’d rather pay $5 this time
[also it’s still very hot, so taking a little walk on my way home was simply not happening.])
- i’m very grateful for today’s therapy session. there hasn’t been one for me in a few weeks due to vacations, and the next one is also more than a full month away, due to vacations, so it was really good and valuable and refreshing to be there today.
- i’m grateful today was a really really short work day. historically, monday work days are super short because i used to have uni classes in the morning/at noon, but i’ve kept them so short even that classes are now over, because there’s not really any reason to shift around the hours when the total number of them should still stay the same.
