- I don’t know if my RNGtheTBR experiment fully worked, but it got me to read five books I’d been meaning to read for a while, so that’s something!
- Me and Lisa’s Discord server. We use it a lot for just trading random ideas, making notes, etc. Way better than Trillian was, because with channels we can split things out.
- Lisa’s now reading The Witness for the Dead, giving me a bit of time to get ahead with the Kate Daniels books again. They’re nearly caught up to me!

- I am finally feeling well again after a nasty cold and was well enough to go into lab today, a week after my symptoms started.
- Being ill made me very grateful for my health and for the energy I have to do things and move my body. I went for a walk this morning in a local park and it was magical.
- I’m experimenting with productivity systems, and I want to send some internet kudos to Mark Forster, Autofocus, and the helpful forum posts that helped me get up to speed! I’m looking for something that enhances my tendency for spontanaeity and deep work, and I’m loving Autofocus so far.

- A very brisk wind this morning. It was refreshing.
- My fleece dressing gown with a hood - useful once the wind had become a bit too refreshing.
- Preordered Thea Gilmore/Afterlight’s new albums. They’re out soon!
- It’s a light day for chores.
- Planning Christmas things! (Supply chain issues mean it’s a good idea to start now.) I do enjoy being able to spoil people.
- The council’s letter seems to have shaken sense into our neighbour and we haven’t been harrassed while entering or leaving the property for five days now. I’ve even accessed our shed without their dog howling in my face. So relieved – I’d got to the point of being scared to go outside.
- Will see my dad today as he’s going to tidy up the garden ready for the autumn/winter.
- Soon we will have two more tubs of malted milk ice cream from Ruby Violet. We got the last two tubs available at the time we ordered.

- An interesting chat with my hairdresser about earthquakes and plate tectonics.
- My new desk looks over the front yard and is close enough to the street that I can talk to people through the window if I’m loud, so now when someone parks across my driveway, I can see them doing it and tell them to move their car without leaving the room.
- I saw our postman stop outside my place, fish around in his basket, and pull out a bag of lollies that he opened delicately with scissors and ate one of before riding off. It delighted me.

- My World Postcard Day order arrived in time! I was worried I’d left it too late to order.
- I think I might’ve overslept if the order hadn’t arrived. Since it did, our neighbour’s dog started barking, so that woke me right up.
- It’s Friday, thank goodness.

- An online journal I used to use reminded me of a “poem” I wrote when I was 12, which led to a “poetry we wrote during dramatic phases of our lives” read-aloud session with my housemates; hilarity ensued. Grateful for online journals, I guess? and definitely for my housemates.
- Free coffee at the office!
- When a book is building and building and then BAM! the tension escalates. I love when authors do that.
Omg yes! So crunchy. I love the buffalo ones too! I think I permanently injured some taste buds with those haha!

- I did some work ahead of my shift, last night, so instead of being greeted by 64 emails, it was 48. Still a lot, but not as fearsome as the inbox being paginated at the start of my shift.
- I found some of my old music, and rediscovered a couple of songs by a band called Caliko. I bought their album when they were the cover band for another artist – I forget who, maybe Karine Polwart – and they seem to have vanished now, even online, but I really liked this song.
- Lisa doesn’t mind cutting up apples for me (and all the other things they do to help me get around my aversions to certain textures and sensations).
- When I get my sliced apple, Hulk gets a (small) slice. I think she might be slightly more enthusiastic about strawberries, but it’s hard to say. She’s a very happy bunny.
- I am grateful to have this thread to prompt me to think of what I can be grateful for
- I am grateful for the opportunity to go hiking with someone I haven’t seen in a while
- I have a car in which to travel to the trailhead
I love the feeling of being grateful for my past self
