Gratitude journaling together

  1. Getting my free flu jab today.
  2. I’ve got pretty much everything I need to do today done already, so after my flu jab I can just chill.
  3. One of my FFXIV friends made me some better gear so that I can do better in some difficult content we’re trying.

  1. Getting my flu jab was really quick and simple, and they didn’t even make us wait around afterwards like the pharmacy do.
  2. The bunnies did not wake us up at all last night so we got some solid sleep.
  3. I got myself out of a fidgety cranky mood by rereading Ancillary Mercy (Ann Leckie). Always a favourite.
  1. This twitter thread explaining why the pronunciation “aks” is as linguistically and culturally correct as “ask”.
  2. Tiny skinks living in the dead leaves from all the pruning we’ve been doing lately.
  3. Indira Varma’s Discworld narrations. She does all the voices so well.
  1. A client was very understanding when I kept making mistakes in a job. The job was cursed!
  2. I have Wednesday off work.
  1. Doing difficult content in FFXIV with Siny, Thaumiel and my wife is always nice – nobody gets mad at each other, and we’re actually figuring out the fight together without looking up strategies online. (If we did it with other people, they’d probably expect to just watch a video to show how other people solved it, rather than work it out.)
  2. I need to find new horror novels for Lisa for Christmas, and I just fortuitously got an email of recommendations for exactly that from an indie bookshop I’ve bought people vouchers from.
  3. Thanks to Xbox’s cloud gaming, I’ve almost finishing replaying Fable 2. I’ve wanted to replay it ever since I rented the game years ago.
  1. I went to a zoo today. So many lovely animals!
  2. When I got hungry and went to the cafe, the main food part was closed and I was forced - FORCED! - to eat an ice cream.
  3. When I was a small child and afraid of swimming, my mother would buy me an ice cream at the end of each swimming lesson. I still love that type of ice cream.

Here are some things I’m grateful for:

  1. Beeminder holding my whole life together
  2. DRUGS AND DUBSTEP
  3. Cool data-self-improvement-quantified-self-nerds existing in this planet

  2. My exams will be online again this year!
  3. I got caught up with everything yesterday.
