Readwise Reader - minding your feed

Hello Readwise users! (If the tool is new to you, I highly recommend it - it’s like a Pocket/Anki hybrid…)

I’ve been reading the thread from when the integration was built, and I see there was some discussion around different use cases.

For me, the problem with targeting a small inbox/later list is that my lazy-brain will just respond by never adding articles, and Reading much less as a result!

I’d much prefer to mind the unseen articles in my feed - since this is the list that is auto-populated (by newsletters etc) and requires me to actively stay on top of it.

If this was an option, then it would really supercharge my Reader workflow of feed → inbox/later → archive (I could then add a goal on the other lists if needed).

If this feature sounds useful to you, please email support to request it! And if you have an alternative workflow that gets around this problem, please let me know

I think this would be unlikely to be an official feature, but if I got a single readwise reader beeminder integration wish about feeds, I’d beemind the age of the oldest unseen item in my feeds. I find “oldest” is a better metric for me than count on things where I’m not the one adding things into my inbox.

I understand your thinking and I’d be happy with either! I’d suggested the count option because it seems to be a very similar structure to the current feature, so I’d thought (perhaps naively) that it would be easy to develop by copying from the existing integration options, with one change to the endpoint from Reader’s api.
