I want to do my PT home exercises at least 4 times within any given 7-day period. Often I do them 6 times, but I don’t really want a buffer to build upl. I would like the counting to restart each day so that I have to do at least 4 sessions over the subsequent 7 days even if I have a buffer built up.
You can set a maximum safety buffer with one of the settings - it’s under “commitment” in the goal webpage:
So just set your rate to 4/week and maximum safety buffer to 1 day - that should do it.
And welcome!
Thank you! That was incredible service! -Anne
Welcome, Anne!
Zed’s given you the big magic–I think there’s just one tweak. To ensure at least 4 PT sessions in any 7-day period, I think your maximum days of safety should be set to 3 (rather than 1). And in general, 7-n for a rate of n. **
** only works for one-a-day things, I think.
Thanks again. I have now set to 3 days of safety and clicked “retroratchet”. This is definitely a one-a-day thing.
Anne
Glad I could help! Just to clarify - if you’re clicking “retroratchet” (in the blue) that’s just a one-time thing - it lowers your buffer once but it will still build up again.
To make it so your buffer can’t build up past a certain point, you have to use “max safe days” (in the red).
My display says that capping Max Safe Days is part of the Premium Plan, which I have not sprung for. Can I just retroratchet every day that I enter data?
Take care,
Anne
Yup, you can manually ratchet and that’s the same as max safe days! I did that years before getting a premium plan.
Thanks for the fix - how did you derive the 7-n formula?
Oh, er, hmmm. I tried out a couple of different commitments, saw a pattern, and ran with it?
