I’ve been surprised a few times recently by goals that almost or actually did archive based on goal end date. It would be nice if Beeminder would send me an email a while in advance so I could change the goal’s end date if I don’t actually want the goal to end.

Were those by any chance goals you created 10 years ago, when we dumbly defaulted to now+10years as the goal’s end date? Probably mostly not, and I totally agree that either way, a warning that the goal is ending would help a lot. We do email when they actually end and encourage you to restart them. And they shouldn’t automatically archive; are you sure you’ve seen that happen? They’re meant to stay at the top of your dashboard, to encourage you to restart them.
