Rescue Time - tracking "neutral time"

After connecting Rescue Time to Beeminder I noticed that there are only options for tracking “productive time” or “distracting time”. I end up with a lot of “neutral time” and would really like to keep a monetary beesting waiting for me if I go over my limit. Can this be implemented?

Great point. Tagging this #UVI
(I’m also really keen to have arbitrary collections of things, like beeminding time spent in any of 3 different text editors or a handful of games or whatever subset of programs and websites you like.)

Hey, just wanted to check if this was going to be implemented at some point. I think it would be very useful for those of us that have many things categorized as “neutral”. Thanks.

I have a Python script that tracks Very Productive time (as opposed to all-productive time). It’s very messy – I can clean it up for you though. Changing it to track neutral time is as simple as changing a number 2 to 0 in the middle of the script.

Just let me know if you’re comfortable with working with Python 3

Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately I know nothing about working with Python. And don’t think I will be learning anytime soon…

This would be interesting to try. I’ve recently started beeminding Distracting Time (https://www.beeminder.com/apolyton/goals/unproductive-time) with great results, at least on desktop (no iOS app for RescueTime)

You can also try beeminding your Productivity Pulse from RescueTime. It will be a manual goal but you will be forced to reduce both distracting and neutral time to get high number in Productivity Pulse.
